Job Description:

Position Summary:

We are looking for an experienced Senior UI/UX Manager of Digital Technology to lead us into the next generation of digital experiences. The candidate will have the ability to manage a small number of international resources and lay out the future frameworks and tooling’s used for the growth of the UI/UX team. This is an opportunity where you can introduce and implement market tested industry solutions, frameworks, design systems and standards so that continuous UI/UX services can be leveraged on all projects.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Owns the entire UX process; from creating products and valuable experiences, including UX, UI
  • Owns and advocates for design systems and an architectural and systematic approach to UX and product design
  • A hands-on manager with abilities to complete tasks and projects themselves in the case resources are not available.
  • Must have front-end skills such as JavaScript, CSS, and HTML to assist dev teams with changes
  • Identify, define, and problem solve, while also driving the next generation innovative UX solutions for our brands
  • Establish a UX framework and design system for managing incoming UX projects and ensure the UX team is properly resourced
  • Partner with wide array of cross-functional partners to leverage data analytics, customer needs/trends, and competitive insights to articulate a UX vision and opportunities
  • Leads the coordination and collaboration with product teams, business teams and other internal stakeholders to drive a cohesive consumer experience
  • Responsible for ensuring deadlines are met and ability to motivate team to work efficiently
  • Manage, coach and develop talent to be a high performing team
  • Collaborate with the strategic product manager and engineering lead to define and execute the vision of the project.
  • Set pace and culture for the team of designers.
  • Participate in user research to guide product design decisions (contextual inquiry, usability testing, competitive analysis etc.) and collaborate/communicate results to the teams.
  • Create flows, wireframes, prototypes, and design mockups as needed to effectively conceptualize and communicate detailed interaction behaviors.
  • Help refine the architecture, user interface, product features, and end-to-end experience for new features/functionality.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams of managers, marketers, and engineers to help define business and feature requirements; analyze empirical data, usability findings, market research, and proven UX principles to justify and prioritize these requirements.
  • Hold design reviews and provide critique and feedback.
  • Assess and optimize the effectiveness of new and existing features by actively participating in usability testing and user research and interpreting analytical data.
  • Manage an international team

Experience and Skills:

Education & Experience:

  • 5+ years of experience.
  • Master of the UX lifecycle with deep, direct experience in all skill areas and tools, including facilitation of workshops or other collaboration techniques to drive momentum and credibility within the organization.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills as you are expected to collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • A strong portfolio showcasing experience working on consumer facing products, demonstrating design thinking methodologies, spanning the full product development process, from discovery to deployment
  • Thought leader for insights and best practices within the UX/UI space
  • Customer-focused, with experience using design research methods to uncover customer insights.
  • Should be capable of producing high quality results, while simultaneously leading (feedback, mentorship, planning) the delivery for a product or initiative and coordinating with partners where needed.
  • Thorough knowledge of key channels and platforms, with experience in mobile, and web solution designs.
  • Experience with resources such as pattern library, repositories and internal communication tools.
  • A collaborative attitude, excellent teamwork skills, and experience mentoring or coaching others.
  • The ability to ideate rapidly and creatively. A willingness to discard or revisit ideas that aren’t working. A laser focus on making measurable impact.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience leading a team of designers and/or researchers.
  • Hands-on experience with qualitative and quantitative research methods—including ethnographic field research, lab and remote usability testing, rapid iterative testing and evaluation, and participatory design.
  • Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides.
  • Experience working in a collaborative team, publicly white-boarding, and working directly with developers for implementation of designs.
  • Experience presenting to and influencing people, from other designers and stakeholders to senior executive management.
  • Ability to drive the design review cycle and close on design requirements independently.
  • Impressive communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be a Self-starter who is a customer-obsessed, detail-oriented, and an enthusiastic team player.
  • Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques.
  • Ability to manage an international team remotely.
