Job Description:

A Week in the Life of G.L. Homes:

  • Solution Development and Project Leadership
  • Meet with stakeholders and end-users to understand their needs, objectives, and challenges.
  • Lead one or more projects to deliver solutions that satisfy stakeholder and user goals.
  • Organize and lead proof of concepts to validate product plans and confirm requirements.
  • Observe business processes in action to identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Research and evaluate third-party products as an alternative to in-house development.
  • Learn and practice agile methodology
  • Turn user pains and problems into actionable stories.
  • Update product backlog to ensure it’s complete, prioritized, and items are groomed for development.
  • Define and plan product releases.
  • Facilitate discussions between stakeholders, SMEs, and the delivery team.
  • Collaborate daily with the delivery team to define, plan and execute work.
  • Help the team focus on value-driven development by correlating delivery effort to business value.
  • Validate and approve delivered work.
  • Track and report accomplishments, progress, and remaining work.
  • Escalate product issues and risks to leadership.
  • Co-facilitate business stakeholder acceptance testing.
  • Develop metrics to measure solution adoption and confirm the business value provided by the solution. Operational Support
  • Provide day-to-day next-level assistance for solutions within the domain of the role. Including support for the general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, job costing, inventory, procurement, bidding, contracting, home inventory, home options, home sales, home construction, home closings, and home warranty.
  • Create and update end-user documentation.
  • Provide hands-on training to end-users.
  • On a few weekends during the year, provide next-level assistance. It’s typically five to six times during the year.

Experience and Skills:

Functional Skills:

  • Strong analytical skills capable of evaluating and foreseeing implications of current and alternative paths.
  • Exceptional ability to pay attention to the details and think ahead.

Technical Skills:

  • Strong excel skills capable of building models, analyzing data, and producing reports
  • Proficient with MS Word, PowerPoint, and Visio Project and Process Skills
  • Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and deliver expected solutions on time
  • Proficient at conducting meetings, including the use of remote collaboration and meeting tools.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills with the ability to understand and communicate complicated concepts to a diverse group.
  • Ability to navigate difficult discussions using data as evidence for best next steps.
