Job Description:

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Senior Financial Analyst is a high-impact role that directly supports the executive team decision making on various financial and operational issues. This position identifies and conducts complex analysis of financial impacts to issues and/or decisions facing the company and proposes strategies to maximize financial performance of the company. This individual will perform a variety of functions including analytics, projections, ownership of the budget process, and business modeling. The Senior Financial Analyst is expected to contribute as a thought leader as part of a fast paced and high growth environment.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Analyze historical and projected financial and operational information with the goal of delivering actionable recommendations for improvement to operations.
  • Continuous improvement of financial reporting, budgeting, and modeling processes.
  • Monthly flash reporting of assigned projects to include sales, closings, revenues, lot status etc.
  • In depth analysis of financial reports obtained from various departments including cash flow forecasting, sales analysis, sales forecasting and community profitability projections.
  • Prepare variance analysis in preparation for financial reviews.
  • Identifies, analyzes, and communicates to management the impact on the Company's financial structure, profitability, and competitive position utilizing relevant analytical methods and/or department forecasting models.
  • Provide analytical support on multiple projects and ad-hoc requests that span across business functions.
  • Develop complex modeling tools to support critical decision-making and guide strategic thinking around P&L and key financial and operating metrics.
  • Support preparation and review of quarterly and ad-hoc financial presentations and models for executive leadership team.
  • Actively participate in all budget and forecast processes.
  • Other related duties as assigned by management

Experience and Skills:

EDUCATIONAL AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Four-year degree in Finance or Accounting is required and a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience. Background in public accounting and/or similar analytical position is required.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Must be highly self-motivated in a high-energy, fast paced environment.
  • Proficient in developing forecasting excel models.
  • Strong understanding of working Systems. Experience in system conversions, upgrades, or similar preferred.
  • Strong organizational skills and follow through.
  • Detail oriented with a high-level of accuracy
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and when necessary, shift priorities quickly.
  • Must be able to work independently (extensive analysis of data).
  • Must have good communication and interpersonal skills with all levels throughout organization
  • Highly proficient in Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Forward thinking with a holistic approach. to analyze effect of changes (entire workbook)
  • Must have the ability to understanding the implications of new information for both current and future problem-solving and decision-making.
  • Expert-level analytical and financial modeling skills with the ability to make connections and understand reporting dependencies
  • Ability to meet deadlines and provide complete product in professional and presentable format

Hours Required:

 

  • Average 40 to 45 hour work week.
  • Must be able to work the occasional extended work schedule including nights and weekends.
